Thu, April 21, 8:00 to 9:30am PDT (8:00 to 9:30am PDT), San Diego Convention Center, Exhibit Hall B

Abstract

This mixed methods research systematic methodological review (MMR-SMR) provides enhanced understandings of advancements in mixed methods research and counselling psychology research based on scholarly articles published over the last five years. Mixed methods research scholars are continually providing commentaries and advocating for advancement in the field. This MMR-SMR responds to and attempts to implement many of the recommendations to enhancing mixed methods research. Highly suited to mixed methods research, counselling psychology research arguably reflects “wicked problems” that require combining multiple types of data to inform complex research questions. Given the increasing presence of and repeated calls to improve the use of mixed methods research, our presentation provides an in-depth exploration about how counselling psychology researchers conducted mixed methods research.
