Work-Based Learning: Promoting Equitable and Culturally Sustaining Opportunities for Community College Students

Abstract

This paper explores equity in work based learning — examining both inclusion and equitable implementation, and provides a case study of one community college program that uses work-based learning experiences for sustaining and strengthening cultural identity as a means to support students in bringing their full selves and talents to the workforce and to civic life — to succeed in, but also transform the workplaces and societies they will enter.
