This study explores the experiences of 21 community college women adjunct faculty. Findings reveal the gender bias amongst faculty, lack of support, and stress related to gender role in the household. The authors employ Bourdieu’s concept of Habitus and Field to examine how women adjunct faculty interact with and are limited by the environments that they are engaged with at their campuses. This research illuminates how colleges can better support these faculty to successfully navigate the path to tenure track positions.
