Abstract

University preparation programs for school leadership have long been criticized for passive recruitment efforts and lax admissions standards. This study draws upon interviews with 19 preparation program directors across Tennessee to better understand how they approach recruitment and selection as well as the barriers they face in trying to identify and evaluate leadership potential in aspiring school leaders.
