This manuscript presents how a high school Arts educator draws on the Funds of Knowledge (FoK), Critical Pedagogy (CP), and Critical Race Theory (CRT) for social consciousness and social transformation in their classroom. The author displays how two students explain their own visual counter-narratives through artifacts and reflections that explain how they drew on their home knowledge and cultural assets, to develop their political awareness through the FofK, CP, and CRT frameworks. The author explains bringing these three frameworks in an art class as the creative resistance used to develop the social consciousness and social transformation of the two art students. Although the Fok, CP, and CRT, advocate for social justice, they cannot address the needs of marginalized students individually.
