The study explored the culturally responsive processes and strategies used by leadership personnel at an elementary school in a low-income community serving primarily Black students. Specifically, emphasis was on the leadership capacity, through dispositions, resources, and abilities, to address the institutional and contextual needs of historically marginalized student populations through the use of culturally responsive school leadership practices. Thematic analysis resulted in the following interrelated themes, Culturally Sustaining School Culture, Culturally Responsive Professional Development, Culturally Relevant Curricula and Pedagogy. Implications for policy, research, and practice are discussed.
