The Horizon2020 project Path2Integrity (P2I) developed 27 learning units on responsible conduct of research. The paper documents the experience in teaching and learning these units collaboratively online with international participants and course sizes of up to more than 200 learners. The corresponding author facilitated 5 courses with over 500 participants from 55 countries in 2021. We use a reflection method based on irritation to make implicit knowledge of the moderator visible and to bring insights into a professional context. Data sources from the project such as systematically gained feedback and results from the P2I (pre-post-test) questionnaire are also used to specify the findings. Those include aspects of technical, structural, and content implementation as well as group dynamics in (mass)online courses.
