Tue, April 26, 8:00 to 9:30am PDT (8:00 to 9:30am PDT), San Diego Convention Center, Floor: Upper Level, Room 10

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between teachers’ creativity and their inquiry-based teaching practice. A questionnaire survey was conducted in four Asia-Pacific countries, namely Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with a total of 1,269 elementary and high school teachers participated. Analysis using linear regression showed evidence for the positive relationship between creativity and inquiry-based teaching of teachers in all four countries. The present study provides an increased understanding of teachers’ inquiry-based teaching, as well as an implication for promoting inquiry-based teaching among teachers through enhancing their creativity. The difference of regression coefficients among each country was also analyzed and discussed.
