The Relevance of Students' Human Rights and Ecological Transition Education in South Korea

Abstract

The purposes of this paper are to discuss how the policy of students’ human rights in South Korea relates to the newly introduced policy called ecological transition education in this era of crisis such as COVID-19 and climate change and to suggest how the educational policy should be reorganized in dealing the issues of human rights and ecological transition. The policy documents on Students’ human rights and Ecological Transition Education in South Korea will be used to analyze.
This paper is expected to reorganize the concepts so that it can be implemented in school level to lead the changes. Moreover, this paper is to expand the theoretical understandings of students’ human rights by exploring its relevance to ecological transition.
