What kinds of leading processes that foster equity, disrupt systemic inequality, and
deepen learning for leaders and what are the elements of equitable systems? Because
systemic racism and the impending inequities in schooling persist, it matters how we
train leaders when it comes to exclusionary discipline. In response, researchers
examined linkages between principal preparation programs, the orientations of the
aspiring leaders enrolled within them, and the potential for program graduates to
facilitate institutional change for racial equity (Gooden et al, 2014).
