This symposium investigates the challenges and opportunities of designing and implementing inclusive K-12 computing pathways in five different U.S. school districts. Creating inclusive computing experiences for students requires addressing structural barriers for students from backgrounds that have been minoritized in computing including: African American/Black, Latinx, Native American/Alaskan Native, English language learners, women, and cisgender students. The five school districts represented in this symposium will present their unique journey in designing and implementing a comprehensive K-12 computing pathway including their approach and integration of inclusive practices. This project is part of a Research-Practice Partnership (RPP) and district leaders will also describe their experiences working with researchers, to accomplish their goals.
