Session Type: Symposium
The papers in this session employ methodologies that inquire into and illuminate relationships between education, space, and time to resist enduring and evolving technologies of white supremacy that pervade educational landscapes. In turn, this session expands on how these methodologies can be engaged to leverage liberatory and transformative knowledges of marginalized populations. Specifically, the session describes methodological tools (e.g., mapping) and spatiotemporal ways of thinking, broadening our capacity to examine ableism and racism in normalized sociocultural contexts. Thus, the papers pursue multidimensional understandings of trajectories (temporal) and spatial realities of intersectional injustices, their (re)production, and forms of ingenuity and resistance.
