Abstract

This symposium is organized as a how-to guide to using arts-based research practice to conduct, interpret, and communicate fieldwork. We demonstrate different approaches to inspire people to use arts-based research practice to create and engage with data. The session begins with a discussion by the Chair of the benefits of the arts for “heightened, perceptive insight into social life” (Co-Editor 3, 2022, p. 329). Four demonstrations of the use of the arts for qualitative data collection and analysis follow.
