Fostering Student Success Through Justice-Oriented or Equitable Learning Environments

Abstract

This session comprises presentations that question or examine the structure and function of various educational learning environments (i.e., in-person, virtual, hybrid, etc.) and the extent to which they foster student success through justice-oriented or equitable means for students across a diversity of identity groups. Papers in this presentation discuss the intimate relationship between the educational environment (e.g., norms, practices, beliefs, values) and student engagement (i.e., access, learning, persistence, etc.).
