Session Type: Business Meeting

Abstract

Our combined Business Panels present a discussion on, “Critical Race Theory“ featuring scholars: Dr. K. Melchor Quick Hall, Brandies University, Dr. David Stovall-University of Illinois-Chicago, and Dr. Lilia Monzo-Chapman University and others. The panel discusses “Critical race theory” as a way of understanding how American racism has shaped public policy, politics, and schooling. This timely topic has exploded in the public arena especially in K-12, where numerous state legislatures and school reformers are debating bills seeking to ban its use in the classroom.
