Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is becoming a recognized field of scholarship across professions education. This panel discussion will define and highlight relevant issues in DEI teaching, research, and service work. Topics may include the roles and opportunities in DEI scholarship, development of DEI projects and initiatives, and navigating DEI committee and service work. This ranges from navigating the intersection of DEI work and personal identity; selecting appropriate methods for scholarship and teaching in DEI topics; and considerations for translating DEI work into various academic roles and relationships. Graduate students and junior scholars who are involved in DEI service and scholarship will hear from a diverse group of panelists who will share about their body of work in this field.
