Abstract

This symposium draws on the work of researchers and practitioners from across the International Congress for School Improvement and Effectiveness (ICSEI) community. The focus of the symposium, Research Practice Partnerships (RPPs) is not a new phenomenon, however, RPPs potential to stimulate improvement and innovation is gaining significant interest within educational systems across the globe. This symposium draws on four diverse cases to explore the possibilities and pitfalls of initiating and sustaining RPPs in a range of cultural, geographical and policy contexts during a pandemic. The papers also reflect on how schools, school districts and other partners have developed capacities to operate within the context of COVID-19 to address educational and social issues associated with and/or exacerbated by the pandemic.
