Transformational leadership research has historically centered on cisgender white males, neglecting underrepresented women. This study explores underrepresented women headteachers in England using qualitative interviews. Thematic analysis revealed critical influences, challenges, and a paying it forward ethos. As a gender equality advocate, I propose a chapter for a research book on women's educational leadership, aiming to illuminate barriers, structures, and inclusivity. I'll explore mechanisms perpetuating gender disparities, emphasizing intersectionality. By amplifying marginalized voices, I seek to contribute to understanding and advocate for equity in educational leadership, offering actionable recommendations informed by underrepresented women headteachers' experiences in England.
