The U.S. faces a growing teacher shortage, exacerbated by the high attrition of BIPOC educators. Despite their positive impact on students of Color, these educators often leave due to Racial Battle Fatigue (RBF), the exhaustion caused by persistent racism. This paper examines the roots of RBF, its connection to other forms of oppression, and the unique struggles of BIPOC educators, particularly women and those with multiple marginalized identities. To improve retention, it recommends addressing implicit biases, fostering allyship, and providing mental health resources. Creating inclusive, supportive environments can help reduce RBF, ensuring both educator well-being and student success.
