Educational Stakeholder Collaboration for Mathematics in K12 Institutions

Thu, October 30, 2:30 to 4:00pm, Hotel Albuquerque, Alvarado E

Abstract

The role of educators as key agents is to create inclusive and supportive learning environments while fostering a shared understanding that all educational stakeholders must contribute to the broader discourse on equitable access to quality math education. This study employed a qualitative case study approach to examine the experiences of individual stakeholders and how they understand and implement their roles through collaboration to meet students’ learning needs in the math classroom. Ensuring that stakeholders grasp the full trajectory of mathematics education is crucial for student success throughout their tenure at an institution. While having seasoned teachers across divisions, strong collaborative teams, and supportive principals is essential, these factors alone do not guarantee seamless K12 math learning. Effective stakeholder collaboration is necessary to bridge gaps and align instructional efforts to benefit all students.
