Concerned with episodes of book bans, critiques of public schools teaching history, and accusations about indoctrination by public schools, I intend to research how groups of white conservative Christian women shape public education. Focusing on two specific groups, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and Moms for Liberty, I will use primary source documents along with historical research to analyze the tactical moves the two groups share so that solutions can be developed to address the current attacks on education from Moms for Liberty, and to prepare for future groups that might seek to continue these attacks.
