In this proposal, we (a group of faculty/staff/students/community members) conceptualize the creation of a multicultural space in a college of education for the purposes of healing, educating, and building solidarities while developing professional identities. Applying principles of social foundations, we envision this space as reinvigorating the call for intersectional justice. Using Anzaldua’s pathway to conocimiento and Lipsitz’s notion of spatial imaginaries, we develop a framework for developing the space to serve as a countercultural space.
