Abstract

This panel proposal is the first of 4 panels that will present a compendium of research published in the book titled Social Foundations of Education Reader: Critical Essays on Teaching, Learning and Leading (Volume II) published by Peter Lang in 2025. The research presented in these panels will highlight the work of contemporary scholars who are courageously addressing critical and controversial topics in education that challenge previous understandings regarding the roles and purposes of public education. The chapters accepted will provide a far-reaching view of rigorous, innovative, and critical scholarship relevant to educational issues.
