Speaking Truth to Power: Critical Frameworks Challenging Educational Inequities

Multiple Presenter Session: Panel

Abstract

This panel will engage with the AESA 2025 theme “Gazing Toward a Multiracial Future of Intersectional Justice” through five emerging scholars’ examination of educational inequities. The presentations will collectively address all three aspects of the theme: reconstruction of mathematics and writing instruction to dismantle colonial and white supremacist structures; representation through testimonio and counter-narrative methodologies that amplify marginalized voices; and reparations through concrete institutional actions to redress historical injustices across educational contexts.
