Abstract

According to the United States Census Bureau, the Hispanic/Latinx community if the largest racial or ethnic minority group in the country. As a group they/we possess diverse histories, challenges, and cultural contributions. This panel brings together three Latinx/e doctoral students who explore the histories of Latinx/e communities in the U.S. through historiographic and interdisciplinary frameworks. Together, these papers examine the impact of monolingualism and English-only policies, Latinx teacher's histories in North Carolina, and expanding Latine educational history in the South.
