This panel is one of the guaranteed panels organized by the Korean Association for Policy Studies (KAPS), following the MOU between APPAM and KAPS). This panel includes five papers in the topic of Reforming and Renovating Local Governments in South Korea. The first paper presents regional disparity in smart city budget allocations in Korea and the second paper discusses when public organizations respond to peformance feedback in South Korea. The third paper presents factors influencing the promotion of data-driven administration in Korean local government, while the fourth paper discusses public service motivation and turnover intention in Korea. The last paper presents balancing local contexts and global standards.
