Session Submission Type: APPAM Communities
The Global South Policy Scholars (GSPS) is a vibrant community for scholars from developing economies and researchers whose work centers on the Global South, including Africa, Latin America, South and Southeast Asia, and other underrepresented regions. This community fosters dialogue and discussion and establishes connection, and mutual support for those navigating research landscapes marked by unique challenges—such as limited funding, institutional disparities, and underrepresentation in global academic conversations.
The GSPS aims to amplify voices from the Global South, share innovative and context-specific methodologies, and build collaborative networks across borders. We welcome discussions on knowledge production, navigating administrative burdens in data collection, equitable research partnerships, maintaining research integrity, and ethical engagement with local communities in the Global South.
This session invites participants to exchange insights, spark new collaborations, and collectively advocate for more inclusive and representative global research ecosystems.
