Session Submission Type: Professional Development Resources
The majority of modern policy research is conducted in teams, but PhD students often write their dissertation alone. In this session, we're focusing on the skills needed to be a great co-author. We'll talk about how to find the right collaborators, both inside and outside academia; how to build strong long-term relationships; and how to work well within a large team. A special focus will be given to topics important to early-career scholars, such as when there is a difference in seniority across co-authors, and to interdisciplinary projects, when co-authors can have different training and norms from their field.
