Internationalisation in the Classroom

Abstract

Most universities highlight the value of 'internationalisation' and invest considerable amounts in international recruitment, international marketing, and building an international reputation. At the same time, the academic content and style of many western classrooms remains parochial, and those international students who are enrolled find little reflection of other intellectual traditions, practices and debates. How can curricular content, discussion and assessments be 'internationalised' to provide opportunities for deeper and wider engagement for all students?
