Protest and Resistance in the Developing World

Fri, August 30, 2:00 to 3:30pm, Hilton, Jefferson West

Session Submission Type: Full Paper Panel

Session Description

Mass mobilization in countries across the developing world has challenged entrenched autocratic regimes and successfully thwarted democratic backsliding across Africa and Latin America in recent years. Recent scholarship has begun to treat protest and resistance in the developing world seriously, yet much remains to be explained and explored. This panel of papers continues the process of examining resistance and revolution across Africa, Mexico, and the Global South in general.
