Session Submission Type: TLC Teaching Café
Experiments have become a central method in political science. They now form part of the corpus of all subfields. Experimental methods also are regularly taught to undergraduates as part of research methods courses or on their own. Yet, there has been virtually no discussion and/or evaluation of the best pedagogical techniques for teaching experiments. This panel brings together five individuals who have taught distinct types of experiments, across subfields, to undergraduates. Each presenter will describe the approach he/she takes in teaching experiments and offer teaching materials/exercises. The hope is to stimulate engaged discussion on how to communicate the method and engage undergraduates in the thoughtful use of experiments.
