Session Description

Repugnant Laws is the first history of judicial review of federal laws that catalogues every statute the Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional. In addition to the Heraclean effort to catalogue those decisions, many of which have been hitherto unknown, the text challenges conventional wisdom in both the law academy and political science on when and how the justices exercise the power of judicial review. A panel of leading experts with diverse perspectives with discuss Whittington's contribution to political science, law and history.
