Advances in the Study of Rebel Governance

Fri, August 30, 8:00 to 9:30am, Hilton, Jefferson East

Session Submission Type: Full Paper Panel

Session Description

Recent scholarship has demonstrated the rich and diverse nature of rebel political institutions and the ties of these institutions to civilian populations. Work in the field of rebel governance aims to bring more insight into the political processes surrounding non-state actors that challenge states militarily. This panel brings together a diverse range of scholars engaged in research on rebel political structure, governance and legitimacy to advance our overall understanding of how rebel groups form and mobilize, as well as how they interact with the government and international community.
