Transnational Politics of International Non-Governmental Organization Behavior

Fri, August 30, 2:00 to 3:30pm, Hilton, Columbia 10

Session Submission Type: Full Paper Panel

Session Description

International non-governmental organizations (INGOs) have become critical transnational actors. Yet scant literature documents the specific motivations that drive INGOs’ behavior. This panel brings together original experimental, survey, and case-study research illuminating the circumstances under which INGOs participate in evaluations, collaborate with local governments, respond to conflicts, and are selected by international organizations as partners.
