Session Description

How do political parties promote or obstruct women's electoral advancement? How does women's electoral advancement interact with other calculations that party leaders undertake? What kinds of gender representation do voters want parties to achieve? How do parties strategically interact with gender quotas? This panel considers the role of parties as facilitators and mediators of, and obstacles to, women's representation in legislatures.
