Session Submission Type: Created Panel
This panel brings together a variety of perspectives on power within the hands of an executive, and how that power was originally cast, how it has been used, and concerns about the use of executive power. The question of the extreme use (or abuse) of presidential power remains a constant concern, as these papers examine the historical and comparative dimensions of these concerns. Papers address the royalist basis for presidential power, particularly in the American structure. They also explore hyperpresidentialism in a comparative context.
