The changing demographic landscape of the United States has prompted cross-racial interactions in much of American life. To better capture the influence of these demographic changes we apply a nascent theory of cross-racial linked fate among Latinos, whites and blacks. We are especially interested in the roles racial resentment, racial empathy, discrimination and group closeness play on cross-racial linked fate attitudes. Using the 2019 University of New Mexico Experimental- Latino Decisions Health Survey (n=3340) we find racial and ethnic groups experience cross-racial linked fate at high rates. Roughly half of each group reported feelings of cross-racial linked fate with two different out groups yet, the factors that influence cross-racial linked fate vary by racial and ethnic group.
