Session Submission Type: Virtual Roundtable
Guests on this panel will offer perspectives on how prepare for and obtain meaningful (and sometimes quite lucrative!) applied jobs in political science that leverage the skills and knowledge that students can acquire in political science graduate programs. They will discuss their own experiences of building careers in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Panelists also will offer practical tips on subjects such as the value of internships as part of doctoral education, the coursework that employers find most valuable, the difference between a CV and resume, and resources outside your departments that may help with career advising and preparation.
