Session Submission Type: Virtual Roundtable
This roundtable will feature four APSR editors who will talk briefly about how scholars can motivate and frame their research so that it fits in a generalist political science journal. In addition to addressing this question generally, panelists will speak to the following specific types of political science research: formal theory, political theory, qualitative research, and quantitative research. They will provide advice based on the work they’ve been seeing (and work they would like to see!) submitted to the APSR, and then will facilitate a broader discussion of why people doing innovative, problem-driven work should submit to generalist journals, and what steps they can take to maximize their chances for success.
