We fielded a survey experiment on a sample of 2,250 African Americans and Latinos. We were interested in testing whether framing disadvantages between the two groups as "shared" would help to foster intergroup cooperation between the two groups. Aside from including traditional attitudinal measures, we also embed a donation game. We find that framing disadvantages as shared, increases African Americans' donations to the outgroup (Latinos). Framing the disadvantages as shared was also associated with positive attitudinal changes among Latinos.
