Session Description

This panel will bring together leading scholars who study the American political economy in cross-national perspective to discuss where American political economy (APE) scholars are currently producing notable insights and where they should direct their energies in the coming years. Among the topics to be discussed: the place of race in APE, the relationship between APE and the study of American political development, and the rebirth of interest in the role played by organized economic interests within and beyond parties.
