Public Opinion towards Aid, Poverty, and Development

Session Description
This panel explores public opinion towards and engagement with aid, poverty, and development. The papers explore the public’s position on aid fragmentation and substitution, charitable giving during economic crises, the link between public attitudes and behavior, and drivers of public preferences for aid projects. The papers use original survey data from a range of donor publics – Germany, France, Japan, Great Britain, and the United States, and empirically use various survey methodologies, including a conjoint experiment and a priming experiment.
