Partisanship has always been one of the prominent determinants of voters’ behavior. This paper sheds light on the partisan tendencies of the voters in shaping their electoral preferences in Pakistan with a case study of district Buner. The article tests an important determinant of voting behavior and electoral studies such as ‘Partisanship’. The study argues that the theory of Partisanship is applicable up to a some extent in the electoral politics of district Buner in the 202l Local Government Elections. This claim has been substantially validated by the empirical evidence in form of quantitative data collected through questionnaires. A sample of 300 respondents has been selected through multistage random and systematic sampling from the voter list in district Buner. It has been found that a half sum of the voters (50.9%) have supported the idea of partisanship in the 2021 LG polls. This idea has further been clarified in terms of various variables including gender, age, literacy, monthly income and profession. The research is empirical-natured based on quantitative and analytical approaches. Respondents have been selected from voters’ list through multi-stage random and systematic sampling. The data collected through questionnaires is then tabulated, analyzed and classified through SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Sciences) software. The findings make this study to be a valuable addition to electoral studies and will fill the existing gap as well.
