Participatory education, initially introduced in Korea in the forms of action learning, service learning, and PBL since the 1980s, evolved into Community-Based Learning on Citizens Politics (CBL-CP) around 2010 and gained significant traction after 2015.This paper specifically focuses on the significance of institutional support, based on a case study of the senior-level undergraduate class titled Citizen Politics at Seoul National University. This paper argues for the importance of student-led institutional support, with student organizations playing a key role in the success of CBL.
