About Annual Meeting
Studies of labor movements commonly invoke generic mechanisms of mobilization and connect them to larger-scale, longer-term shifts in political economy. This article begins to do the same for consumer mobilization to reform the food system. Using the familiar social movement language of grievances, resources, solidarities, and political strategies, we ask how consumer mobilization resembles and differs from labor mobilization and how it is tied to larger changes in the U.S. food system.
