This paper examines the training process in a bartending school as a professional organization that prepares their trainees for jobs in service sector. Drawing on my ethnographic data from a bartending school, I demonstrate in detail how technical, emotional as well as regulatory skills in bartending are taught and learned. The findings illustrate the ways in which bartending students are trained to become drink producers, service providers as well as law-enforcement agents.
