Shaping an Honors Program through Course Assessment

Abstract

In this presentation we describe how we use a curriculum based approach to assess the Sociology honors program. The course involves connecting students with local businesses through a service learning research project. Using assessment metrics collected in this course, we develop a series of recommendations for increasing student engagement in sociological research and integrating them into the Department.
