Public School Alternatives and their Impacts on Cross District Segregation

Sun, August 17, 8:30 to 9:30am, TBA

Abstract

This analysis uses publicly available data to examine the relationship between public school alternatives and school district segregation. Private school use and the availability of charter schools are both found to be associated with the level of school district segregation with metropolitan and micropolitan areas. Implications of this finding are discussed.
