About Annual Meeting
With this paper I am going to present a 10-step plan for encouraging students to become early career researcher in Sociology. By using innovative methods in higher education, ordinary coursework can turn into important learning steps for the prospective academic career of undergraduates and graduates. I have developed this plan during participant observations in a structured PhD-program at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at Justus-Liebig-Universität/Germany and constructed a model which can be used across disciplines. Currently I am conducting this teaching and learning concept in a sociological course for Bachelor candidates at the Universität Leipzig/Germany. In an open discussion during the presentation the presenter will reflect together with the audience on the concrete implementation as well as the further development of the 10-step-plan.
