Abstract

This paper explores the narrative work of poor and working-class young adult women. Drawing on four waves of semi-structured interviews with 18 women, I present preliminary analysis of how these women navigate the dual demands to maintain high ambitions and manage past failures through the development of a therapeutic narrative.
